Our Journey
Our Journey
The Caribbean Association of Probation and Parole (CAPP) began with a simple yet powerful recognition: probation and parole officers in the Caribbean are a critical component of the criminal justice system and need to have a collective voice.
In mid-2023, a group of passionate individuals came together through informal conversations and meetings, discovering common ground, and vision - the vital need to develop synergies to enhance the profession and establish regional best practices as well as standardization within the field.
What started as discussions quickly evolved into structured planning sessions in early 2024. Through months of dedicated effort, the transition from planning to action culminated with the launch of CAPP in September 2024. Since then, we have experienced growth, expanding our membership base, and forging strategic partnerships that amplify our impact. Today, CAPP stands as beacon in the Caribbean, making measurable differences in the criminal justice arena while continuing to evolve and adapt. Our journey from vision to reality demonstrates the power of collective action and serves as testament to what can be achieved when dedicated individuals unite around a common purpose, transforming ideas into sustainable progress.
